New To Calvary Chapel?

Visiting Calvary Chapel

Sometimes, it can be intimidating to visit a new church. What will they be wearing? How do they worship? Will I be welcome? At Calvary Chapel, we understand the questions and feelings that surround your first visit to a new place. We have greeters that will welcome you at the front door, that make every effort to help you feel welcome and right at home from the moment you first arrive and every time you return.

When are your services?

Our main worship services are every Sunday morning at 8:30am and 10:30am. Both services are identical with the same worship music set and verse-by-verse study through God's Word.

Our evening services are Sunday evenings at 6pm, with a more classic style of worship music, and another verse-by-verse study through God's Word.

You're welcome to join us at any of these services, so feel free to choose a service that would best fit your schedule.

We also have Life Groups and Men's & Women's Studys that meet throughout the week. For more information see our Get Connected page.

Where do I take my children?

The Children's Ministry cares for your children while you attend church. We minister to your children from infant through 6th grade. We use Discipleland curriculum. Discipleland teaches children to love the Word of God, to know God intimately, to love God passionately, and to serve God selflessly, while making them disciples of Jesus Christ. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make your child's church experience an exciting and memorable one.

It is the vision of the Children's Ministry, here at Calvary Chapel, to assist families in raising their children to become disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ by providing Christ centered curriculum and by teaching, using the Spiritual gifts He has given us.

What is your style of Bible teaching?

As part of the Calvary Chapel fellowship of churches, we emphasize God's grace and love for us in a clear and understandable way. Our message comes simply from the Word of God, as we apply His unchanging truth in a verse by verse study of the Bible. Our desire is for you to strengthen your knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to have a deep and intimate relationship with Him. We believe that the Bible is God's infallible Word and to know God's Word is to know Him (John 1:1).

We invite you to check out the various Bible Studies that are found in our H2O Media section to hear various studies that we have archived for your use.

In our worship services we emphasize these five aspects of ministry:

The Worship of God

Fellowship with other believers

Discipleship Training

Equipping for service

Outreach to the un-churched

How do I become a member at Calvary Chapel?

Here at Calvary Chapel, we do not have formal memberships. We believe that all believers are members of God's family as they place their trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Those who attend Calvary Chapel of the Antelope Valley demonstrate their support by attending, praying for this fellowship, and tithing.

Tell me more about Sacraments & Dedications?

life groups

Water Baptism is for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and understand the meaning of a life in Christ. This a public declaration of faith before the Body of Christ therefore, we have been doing our baptisms at Marie Kerr park swimming pool in the city of Palmdale. Currently, because of weather conditions, our baptisms are done only during the summer months.

Communion is celebrated at our Sunday morning services on a monthly basis. As we remember the body of Christ that was broken for us (represented by the bread), and His blood, which was shed for the forgiveness of sins (represented by the cup).

Baby Dedications are a time in which parents vow to raise and lead their children in God's love and truth. We require an appointment with one of our staff pastors before setting a time for any dedication. Since a baby dedication is a vow being made before God and the church, we take every dedication very seriously and have information to give to parents or guardians that they must read and agree to in order for us to perform the dedication of your child. All dedications are done at the beginning of second service.
